HOW IT WORKS

CoolSculpting® freezes the fat cells causing a natural breakdown. Large volumes of fat and multiple areas can be treated in one procedure, including tummy, thighs, love handles, bingo wings and bra fat. CoolSculpting® is the most popular non-invasive alternative to liposuction for men and women.

  • Many of us have stubborn fat despite diet and exercise.

  • CoolSculpting® technology uses controlled cooling to target and kill only these fat cells.

  • In the weeks to follow, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells.

  • CoolSculpting® procedure results are lasting, with the full effects taking hold between two and three months after the treatment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does CoolSculpting® work?

Invented by a team at Harvard, it’s the only FDA-approved system of its kind. Using revolutionary cooling technology, it targets, freezes and eliminates fat cells effectively and noticeably. After the practitioner has marked up the area to be treated, a gel pad is applied to the area. The applicator, adapted to the curvature of the area being treated, is then positioned. The fat deposits are painlessly sucked into the applicator and then the cold is triggered. The area is quickly numbed by the cold and the drop in temperature causes the fat cells to die. When the applicator is removed, the skin is massaged. The dead fat cells are then naturally expelled by the body’s immune system between three and eight weeks after the procedure, with a noticeable associated tightening in the skin.

How much fat will I get rid of?

You can usually expect to lose about a third of the fat targeted–up to one small cup of fat per hour–and multiple areas can be treated on the same day.* At your consultation, your Revere CoolSculpting practitioner will determine, through mapping, how many “small cups” you will need to lose to achieve your ideal shape. The more applicator freezing cycles you have, the more fat you will lose, and the more dramatic the final result will be.

*These results may not be attained by all patients.

I see Fat Freezing advertised in a beauty salon in my area, are they all the same?

There are many other copy-cat procedures, some similarly named, but they do not have the FDA approval, or the associated safety standards that CoolSculpting has demonstrated, so always check that the practitioner is offering the authentic CoolSculpting®, manufactured by Zeltiq.

Who is the best candidate for CoolSculpting®?

It’s ideal for men and women who follow a healthy lifestyle, eat sensibly, exercise regularly but just cannot shift those stubborn fat areas. It’s perfect for getting rid of any fat below the skin that you can pinch, even just one to three inches or a one to three-inch skin pinch, and in the right candidates, significantly more.

What are the most common treatment areas?

Sixty per cent of Revere Clinics’ patients have CoolSculpting® on their tummy area. It’s also excellent for flabby areas such as non-glandular ‘man boobs’, love handles, muffin tops, buttocks, inner and outer thighs, underarms (‘bingo wings’), back fat and bra folds.

What is mapping and why is so important?

We have a range of applicators to treat different areas of the body and depending upon the skin pinch. Each applicator has its own unique shape and size to contour and sculpt the various body parts. The choice of the type of applicator, number of applicators, its distribution, positioning, overlap and possible re-treatment all determine your eventual body shape.

The Revere Protocol is our own mapping methodology that we firmly believe gives us the edge on results that can be achieved with CoolSculpting®, and why we repeatedly say “not all fat freezing is the same”

Is CoolSculpting® painful and can I resume normal activities after a treatment?

The process is relatively comfortable – there is a pulling sensation for the first two minutes, but this disappears quickly as the temperature drop begins to numb the area. Patients find the treatment comfortable enough to be able to read, use their iPad or even have a nap. Many go straight back to work while others schedule treatment for late afternoon. There is likely to be some post-treatment redness, swelling and bruising, temporary numbness and the odd cramp in the treated area a few days after the treatment.

What about frostbite? Is that a risk?

The clever scientists at Zeltiq have developed an ingenious patented safety feature called “freeze detect” – a sensor that is continually monitoring for subtle temperature variations that occur if the skin is being harmed, it automatically cuts out the treatment cycle before any damage is done. Reassuringly, we’ve never seen any incidents of lasting skin damage due to the cold.

Do I get a rise in Cholesterol as my body processes the dead fat?

No, lots of studies have been published demonstrating that there is no detectable change in serum cholesterol and free fatty acids in your bloodstream in the 8 weeks after your treatment. Did you know it’s actually higher after you consume a portion of french fries!

When will results be noticeable?

CoolSculpting® results start to show about three weeks after treatment. But the full extent of the fat loss will be evident between two and three months after the procedure.

Can I stop dieting and binge on brownies after a treatment?

CoolSculpting® is not an alternative to exercise and a healthy eating plan, and whilst we think the treatment is amazing, it doesn’t have super powers to protect you from life’s indulges indulgences on your remaining fat cells. The take home message is simple, your new shape is constant as long as you don’t gain excess weight.

How much does CoolSculpting cost and is Revere more expensive than its competitors?

CoolSculpting® prices are based on the number of “treatment cycles” that need to be delivered. A treatment cycle typically starts at £700, so treating arms is usually quoted at £1,400 (one cycle per arm).
However, as we all know, patients come in various sizes, and fat distribution varies. We have lean patients that have just a localised stubborn area that only require 2 cycles, and others who would require in excess of 40 cycles over various body areas. Thankfully, we have a sliding scale price, so the more cycles you have, the cheaper it gets. If you need in excess of 8 cycles, then you’ll be expecting to spend the same amount you would do if you were having surgery. At Revere, you will get the results of liposuction, without risks and downtime associated with surgery!
We also continually monitor prices at reputable clinics worldwide to ensure that our pricing is fair. However, our focus is based on providing you with the best possible result.

Can I split my treatments?

Yes you certainly can, although the Revere CoolSculpting® protocol dictates that we treat one area as per the recommendation before you move onto the next. Its these subsequent areas that can be treated any time later, whether that’s 1 week later due to time limitations or after 8 weeks, when you’ve seen the results for yourself.

Where can I book in for CoolSculpting® treatments?

Revere Clinics are located in Harley Street, central London and in Northwood, Middlesex in a state-of-the-art, purpose built facility, where there is free parking. Northwood is within easy access of the M1, M25 and M40 motorways and is on the Metropolitan Underground line (complimentary taxi service to Revere Clinic).
